How to stop hating exercise: Start loving it

Most of the time, we find ourselves hating to exercise. Maybe you’re one of them? Here, you’ll learn great tips that will help you change your mind from “I hate exercise” to loving it.

Find what you love

Is it cycling, short jogging laps, sit-ups… whatever it may be, recognize it and know that it is your passion.

Don’t waste a lot of time trying to do something you don’t enjoy. Instead, find ways to exercise that fit your personality. If you are a social person or prefer to work with groups, don’t hesitate to do so. Join physical activities in your area. Maybe dance groups, hikes, or weekend safaris. You will find that you become more and more motivated and start to love working out in no time.

Be realistic

It would be effortless to say, tomorrow I’ll run for an hour, but it’s not easy when you’re just starting. Therefore, whatever exercise you begin with, try to be realistic in your planning. Don’t overextend yourself because that can lead to frustration, and you end up hating it and giving up.

Please, to make it work well, start slowly and gradually build the habit.

Stay focused

To stay focused and avoid losing track or merely giving up initially, try practicing the following.

  • Set specific goals
  • Set reminders for yourself
  • Plan your workout
  • Please put it in writing
  • Consider the obstacles
Ignore peoples thoughts

When I first started working out, I remember one of my best friends asking me what I want to accomplish? The reason she asked that was that I wasn’t fat. Many people assume that exercises should be done by people who are trying to lose weight. Are you one of them? Well, dear reader, you may be wrong.

The main reason why we should all exercise is to stay healthy and reduce the risk of some diseases. To go even further, exercising helps us maintain the bodyweight we want.

Therefore, once you start exercising, it pays to ignore the negativity and worries to achieve what you want.

Are you still at it? On your way from “How to stop hating exercises?” Great! Our fourth tip is to be patient. As I write this, I understand very well that it can be challenging at first. For you to adopt a new routine and make it a habit takes time. So be willing to take your time, and sooner or later, you’ll find yourself in it like a pro.
